This paper explores the development of Rokoko, a small niche theatre group concerned with re-inventing animation by way of advancing on motion-capture technologies, and which today moves towards extending their reach into the commercial landscape. By taking the socio-technical approach of Actor-Network Theory to the development Rokoko, a re- thinking of translation is introduced called Translation Intensity, and as an analytical tool it encapsulates the former and presents Rokoko as a result of a particular sequence of network translations.
