Will I be able to print my eBook? Some
PDF files do not permit printing. To determine whether the full eBook edition is
printable, first download the 25 page free sample. If you can print the
25 page sample you will be able to print the full eBook file once the
password is obtained. The graphic resolution may be reduced to minimize
the file size. Color images may appear in shades of gray in the paperback

We can publish your dissertation even if it is already available through Proquest (formerly UMI). In addition, our program will make your dissertationion accessible to a much wider audience. When published in paperback, our titles are available through thousands of booksellers and internet search engines, such as Amazon.com and Google. We offer lower cost editions to the general public and pay much higher royalties to our authors. Our publishing options make it possible to publish a much more attractive looking work with custom artwork and professional layout. Plus, authors can monitor their sales and royalities on-line.
Yes, all our publications are protected under copyright law. You may register your copyright with the US Copyright office; however, registration is not a condition of copyright protection. See link below for details www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html#cr
Our aim is to make every title easily accessible and attractive to widest range of academic researchers and booksellers. Some of the things we do include:
Initial sales usually depend on the author's network of colleagues and associates, but ultimate distribution is determined by the size of the market for the work, the dissertation's unique contribution and how much publicity it receives. Some of our works sell regularly and earn royalties for their authors. However, authors serious about exposing their work should consider some kind of promotion to let colleagues know that it is available.
The author is usually the best spokesperson for his or her work. Those that have frequent opportunities to talk and network with others will generate more interest in it. Establishing Internet links to your work will make your work easier to find. Every author will benefit by knowing how to promote their work. Several excellent guides are available including: A Simple Guide to Marketing Your Book by Mark Ortman, and 1001 Ways to Market Your Books by John Kremer.
Submit your thesis as a single file, exactly as it should appear in print. Do not indent the binding edge. It is best to center the page numbers or align them on the outside edge of each page so they appear properly when the book pages are printed on both sides.
Submissions formatted for page size larger than 7.44" x 9.69" page will be reduced to fit. (Reduction from 8.5" x 11" to 7.44" x 9.69" is 12.5%). Fonts, margins, and everything else will be automatically scaled down to fit.
Submitting as a PDF file speeds the publication process because it ensures that no formatting changes occur when the files ar prepared for reproduction. Files submitted in PDF format must have all the fonts properly embedded. Be sure to select the Acrobat "Embed All Fonts" and "Compress Text and Line Art" options if converting to PDF format with Adobe Acrobat.
Although the on-line ebook edition may be rendered in color, colors in the printed paper edition are transformed to shades of gray. Sometimes red appears almost black when printed in black and white, so be careful when using color for figures and charts. Graphics contained in the book or submitted for cover art should be at least 300 dpi at actual size. Print on demand technology uses laser printer technology. It is best for text and line art, but clear, high contrast photos and images reproduce well for instructive purposes. Print your manuscript for review on a laser printer before submitting the final edition for publication. POD will not enhance your images. Don't expect photos to look any better in the final edition of your book than they do when printed on your laser printer.
Please contact us if you have any questions about formatting your work.
Typesetting of the title and author's name on the front cover, and abstract and ISBN/price barcode on the back cover is prepared at no additional charge. The fee to submit custom front cover artwork, photos or graphics is $109.00 US.
Authors planning to submit cover art should consider how it will look as a small Internet thumbnail image. Is it still legible when reduced to 120 x 185 pixels?
Image files for printing need to be higher resolution than for those made
for viewing on the Internet Final cover art should saved at 300 dpi at actual
size in TIF format. Large files can uploaded at http://www.dissertation.com/upload.htm or
emailed as indicated below. An image file of the author may be included for
printing on the back cover with advance reviews, synopsis or bio.
