In order to determine whether an animation can influence people???s perception of aggression and eeriness, the present investigation tested the interaction between facial width-to-height ratios and the ???Uncanny Valley??? in an animation that displayed a different face in six different conditions. A 3D animation was produced solely for the purpose of this study and was created using neutral, non-leading designs except for the face of a singular animated character. Viewers??? responses were measured by affective character and scene ratings through adjective endorsement and through short essay answers. Results reveal that the interaction had no effect by itself except when also taking into consideration gender differences in perception ??? specifically, it was found that men and women did not react the same to the character presented in the animation.
