This project was written in cooperation with 3F - the largest trade union in Denmark. There have not been any studies conducted on the social partners dispute in the ILO from 2012 hence our motivation to provide insights on the impasse. During the dispute the supervisory system of the ILO ceased to function in terms of striking cases. This paper aims to present feasible permanent solutions to resolve the issue between the social partners. This is done by analyzing the organizational change that the International Labor Organization is seemingly experiencing by utilizing a theoretical framework by Barnett and Finnemore. We have found that there is indeed an organiza- tional change in the tripartite structure of the ILO which emanated from the inside. We propose a bestowal of legal competences by the International Court of Justice upon the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations. This would provide the ILO with an in-house mechanism of dealing with similar issues like this in the future. Advisors/Committee Members: Meged, Jane (advisor).
