This thesis explores the use of games as a transmedia extension for musical artists. The music industry has had trouble adapting to the new consumer climate of the digital age. This thesis aims to provide insight on how current trends and interactive experiences can help to alleviate some of the problems the music industry has fallen victim to in the 21st century. The concept of transmedia is explained and a background on the subject is provided. Current music transmedia game projects are examined and evaluated.
