Abstract

The Bridge Program Production Company is a privately owned company which offers at risk youth the opportunity to acquire hands on experience in the field of film production. Upon completion of this program, the youth will receive certificates of completion and career consulting from working professionals. The founder of this company is Raymond Milton who have both worked in various levels of the entertainment industry. In addition, Raymond Milton has worked as a correctional officer for over six years with inmates of varying criminal histories from high risk offenders to less serious offenders. Raymond Milton has taught in various Los Angeles County school districts as well. This thesis introduces the screenplay HUNTED, which pays homage to the sacrificial endeavors of young black males engulfed in a genocidal system. The film explores oppositional culture and fictive kinship, as well as the ramification of such ideologies on the African American community.
