Abstract

In deciding the repertoire for my recital, I had two goals in mind. One was to choose music that represented varying styles and languages, the other was to choose music that best displayed my unique talents as a singer. With these goals in mind, I selected music in four different languages (English, German, French and Hebrew) ranging from the Classical period all the way to present day. I also chose songs of differing styles, including lieder, melodie, folk, musical theater and even cantorial chant. The songs were grouped together either by composer or by style and then ordered chronologically.
