Abstract

"In a process of gold chlorination recently introduced and apparently used with success in Southern Australia, potassium permanganate, common salt and sulphuric acid were used as the generators of the chlorine. A series of experiments was made to determine the efficisacy of these reagents and for developing chlorine as compared with other methods in use" – p. [1].
