Abstract

This paper describes some of the development work undertaken by the author on an electronic synchronous speed regulating system for the National Research Council of Canada. Its purpose is to show how a control system of this type may be analysed by means of servomechanism theory, and the methods by which stable operation may be obtained. No originality is claimed for the principle of control or for the methods of analysis used here. However, the actual analysis of this control system and its proposed stabilization, has not, to the author1s knowledge, been covered elsewhere in the literature. The bibliography contains those articles which were used by the author to obtain an understanding of the subject, as well as those referred to in the text.
