Abstract
This paper reviews the work done by early investigators, and discusses the theories proposed to explain the presence of microwave signals well beyond the horizon. The experimental work carried out to investigate the effect of meteorological phenomena on the signal received over a microwave link between Ottawa and Dorval Airport is described. Further experiments which suggested themselves as a result of this work are outlined.
