Abstract

"The object of this investigation was to find a means of obtaining from a low-grade dolomitic ore pulp a segregate of the sulphide minerals of lead, zinc, and copper preliminary to chemical analysis so that the chemist's error of 0.03 per cent would be divided by the ratio of the segregate to the entire pulp, and hence be reduced. Two methods of obtaining the segregate were investigated: (1) By float-and-sink tests, and (2) by selective dissolution of the dolomite, which is the main gangue constituent of the ore" – Object of Investigation, p. 3.
