Abstract

The task of this master thesis is to develop a communication system for underwater communication with acoustic waves using simple hardware to keep cost low and time to market short. Simple hardware means trying to do most of the work in digital domain instead of analog domain, modern DSP/FPGA/microprocessors/processors contain much processing power. The communication range should be 100 meters underwater, and should be able to transmit the wanted data at least once every couple of seconds. 100 meters rangeRaw data rate of one-two kbit/sUse as little analog circuitry as possibleUse o the shelf transducer Using little analog circuitry and an o shelf transducer will lower the cost of the hardware, the development will also be easier and flexible.
