Abstract

The eighth reform on curriculum at compulsory education level was launched in China in 2001. As a master thesis for Comparative and International Education, this report is discussing the main changes of this latest reform in relation to western educational theories, Chinese educational traditions and globalization. The analysis is structured by 5 aspects, namely, the goal of the reform, changes in curriculum structure, changes in curriculum standard, changes in instructional methods and changes in educational evaluation.
