This work seeks to analyze the state-of-art with the use of DPI in mobile telephony networks in the view of possible negative effect on the subscribers’ privacy. This research aim to analyze the use of DPI technology applications used by mobile operators in the scopes of traffic management and targeted marketing and introduces possible tendencies in data protection anticipated to evolve from applying such sophisticated and powerful tool such as DPI in ever fast growing mobile Internet.
