Abstract

The Khed Tahasil is present in the region of Northern Western Ghats. The conservation of biodiversity is necessary from this region, because flora and fauna is highly diversified. The ecology of reptiles shows the results of biotic as well as abiotic factors. Present status from this study area. The unique habitat from ancient time present but now a days these are threaten by development of industries and other various factors in study area. The endemic, vulnerable, rare and uncommon species from the regions like Khed and Chakan, due to civilization and industrial development.The interference in habitat of reptiles and some adopted reptiles like Pythons, crocodiles, Krait, cobra, saw scaled viper, Russell s viper and Bamboo pit viper are harmful to human because of this crocodile attack, snake bite case are increases from study area.The snake charmers illegally collect the reptiles and make injuries to reptiles at the time of road shows and also during festivals Some tribes are also threat to reptile s fauna by hunting the species like Common Indian Monitor use for medical purpose, in making oil and meat.%%%References p. 142-149
