Abstract

Connectivity maintenance architectures are one solution to newlineachieving the best quality of service QoS in wireless networks Due to their newlinedynamic topologies computing the connectivity related parameters newlineconstitutes a major task This requires a lot of control messages to update newlineevery change occurring in the network This research work focuses mainly on newlineconnectivity improvement structures in wireless networks The key issues in newlinewireless networks are maintaining a given topology with a minimum number newlineof nodes reconstructing localized structures during link or node failure and newlinemobility maintenance These issues also arise during path finding and newlinemaintenance between the source and destination nodes Due to battery based newlinewireless nodes solving all these issues separately requires more power To newlineaddress these issues various localized approaches are introduced in this newlineresearch work namely a dynamic overlay approach for connectivity newlineimprovement a self organized method for mobility maintenance a localized newlinecomputing approach with a minimum degree a neighbor aware connectivity newlinearchitecture and finally a mesh cluster approach newlineFirstly the dynamic overlay approach uses autonomous nodes newlinecalled overlay nodes that form a set of interlinks to share resources These newlinenodes have the ability to maintain the link between different network newlinetopologies based on local computations Secondly the self organized scheme newlinegives the characteristics of the intermediate nodes and analyzes the QoS newlineprovided newline%%%reference p161-172.
