Abstract

The main objective of the present study is to improve the properties of industrially valuable diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A DGEBA epoxy and unsaturated polyester resins using bismaleimide and caprolactam as chemical modifiers toughening agents by hybridization with nano sized functionalized inorganic fillers such as mullite rice husk ash RHA and cyclotriphosphazene PZE to obtain nanocomposites meeting the requirements of high performance applications The organic inorganic hybrid nanocomposites were prepared using functionalized inorganic phase with 3 glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane and vinyltriethoxysilane with organic phase DGEBA epoxy and unsaturated polyester resin Mullite rice husk ash phosphazene bismaleimide glycidyl functionalized mullite rice husk ash GFM GRHA vinyl functionalized mullite rice husk ash VFM VRHA were synthesized characterized and utilized for the present work newlineSurface functionalized mullite rice husk ash reinforced epoxy hybrid nanocomposites GFM EP and GRHA EP respectively were prepared from varying weight percentages of surface modified mullitefibre and surface functionalized rice husk ash with DGEBA epoxy resin newline newline%%%reference p214-237.
