Abstract

The diesel engine evolution continues to give higher levels of newlineperformance and fuel efficiency Several research works have elucidated the newlineimprovements in diesel combustion and emissions by the use of oxygenated newlineorganic compounds oxygenates as fuel additives Since the oxygenate newlineblended diesel combustion process have been defined only to a limited newlineextent this experimental investigation was carried out to bring out further newlinedetailed results newlineThe overall objective of this study is to carry out a comprehensive newlineanalysis of combustion heat release heat transfer performance and newlineemissions of a diesel engine fuelled with diesel oxygenate blend for its newlinepotential development over the conventional diesel fuel In this work the newlinediesel fuel is blended with oxygenates namely dibutyl maleate DBM newlinediethyl malonate DEM and diethyl maleate DIEM for combustion newlineperformance and emission analysis under identical test conditions in a single newlinecylinder constant speed water cooled stationary engine newline newline%%%reference p143-148, appendix p149-164.
