Abstract

Vehicular emissions are of particular concern since these are newlineground level sources and thus have the maximum impact on the general newlinepopulation Also vehicles contribute significantly to the total air pollution newlineload in many urban areas increase in consumption patterns and higher newlinedemands for transport energy and other infrastructure thereby leading to newlinepollution problems The air pollutants can be divided into two groups traditional Major Air Pollutants MAP comprising of sulphur dioxide newlinenitrogen dioxide carbon monoxide particulates lead and the secondary newlinepollutant ozone and the Hazardous Air Pollutants HAP comprising of newlinechemical physical and biological agents of different newline newline%%%Reference p.156-169
