Abstract

Women are likely to encounter various gynaecologic problems during their life time that may provoke a variety of physical concerns and psychologic responses The reproductive organs menstruation and fertility are seen by women as fundamental to their femininity Any associated problems disfigurement and mutilating operations especially on the face breasts and the reproductive organs often have a deleterious effect on a womans self image and sexuality newline Cervicovaginal discharge is a common clinical symptom with many etiologies Emotional stress ovulation and sexual excitement can increase the amount of normal vaginal discharge Abnormal discharge may be due to precancerous or cancerous lesion infections that may be sexually or not sexually transmitted or due to forgotten tampon or foreign body in the cervix The discharge from the cervix can be examined microbiologically and cytologically to detect two major problems in women cervicovaginal infections and cervical dysplasia newline newline%%%SUMMARY PGS: 230-241 REFERENCE PGS: i-xxii APPENDIX PGS: xxiii-lxiv
