Abstract

Peer to peer P2P applications are extremely popular on the newlineInternet while their uses vary from file sharing, video streaming Voice over newlineIP gaming and more Increasing number of users prefers to use wireless newlinedevices and wish to continue using P2P applications even when they are newlineroaming A Mobile Ad hoc Network MANET is an infrastructure less newlinenetwork which allows users to dynamically form a mobile wireless network newlineP2P overlay networks and mobile wireless ad hoc networks share many key newlinecharacteristics such as self organization dynamism resilience to failure and newlinedecentralization due to the common nature of their distributed components It newlineis necessary to create P2P algorithms that are able to cope up with the newlinechallenges posed by mobile ad hoc networks The major challenges of newlineMANET are found in these networks including node mobility resource newlineconstrained nodes and content transaction with anonymous nodes It becomes newlinenecessary for the P2P network to observe the change that are taking place in newlinethe underlying MANET to form the groups of nodes based on content newlinesimilarity newlineIn the present thesis a framework for mobile P2P computing using newlineMANETs as the underlying networks and P2P networks as the logical overlay newlinenetworks has been proposed This framework involves two components one newlineis a protocol called Mobile Peer to Peer Resource Sharing Protocol MPRSP newlineand another is enhanced MPRSP using the principles of Game theory newline newline%%%reference p201-216.
