Abstract

Recent advances in Electronic and Computer technologies have newlinepaved way for the growth of Wireless Sensor Networks WSN Sensor newlinenetworks usually consist of a large number of ultra small autonomous devices newlinewhich are battery powered and integrated sensors data processing capabilities newlineand short range radio communications newlineWSNs have very limited battery power memory computation and newlinecommunication capacity high node density and easy node failure These newlinecharacteristics pose significant challenges in terms of the security of WSNs newlineand also render ineffective the applicability of existing methodologies of newlinesecuring ad hoc networks Military and medical solutions are two of the newlinemost security oriented application fields of Wireless Sensor Networks newlineSensor network attacks are classified into three main categories that newlineare Identity Attacks Routing Attacks and Network Intrusion Identity attacks newlineintend to steal the identities of legitimate nodes operating in the sensor newlinenetwork newline newline%%%reference p149-159.
