Abstract

The work pertains to two lake ecosystems viz the Dal with its four basins and the Nilnag a forest lake in as much as the planktonic dynamics viz the water chemistry is concerned The observations made at regular Intervals during 1979 1980 are presented in the form of tables graphs and figures to obtain manifold conclusions newlineas presented in the text of the thesis It is hoped that the work in addition to what others working under the project have been doing on vertical distribution of plankton macro phytes periphyton productivity and energetics mineral cycling and mineral newlinebudgets etc will be greatly helpful in the better understanding of the functioning of the two highly important lake systems and laying out suggestions for their proper newlinemonitoring and management in future newline%%%
