Abstract

The main objective of real power classical economic dispatch newlineproblem EDP is to ensure the generators fuel consumption or the operating newlinecost of the whole system minimal by determining the power output of each newlinegenerating unit satisfying the system load demands and other necessary newlineconstraints The fundamental of the economic dispatch problem is formulated newlineas a set of input output characteristic of a power generating unit A typical newlineboiler turbine generator unit consists of a single boiler that generates steam newlineto drive a single turbine generator set The input output characteristic of the newlinewhole generating unit system can be obtained by combining directly the input newline output characteristic of the boiler and the input output characteristic of the newlineturbine generator unit It is a convex curve and was solved using a wide newlinespectrum of optimization methods newlineIn essence to ensure economic operation power generation newlinescheduling is performed by two important tasks unit commitment and newlineeconomic dispatch of which the latter is the topic of the present research newlineThe power generating units should be run at about full load or the load at newlinewhich they can give maximum efficiency The cost of power generation newlineparticularly in fossil fuel plants is very high and economic dispatch helps in newlinesaving a significant amount of such expense newline newline%%%appendix p162-176, reference p177-192.
