Abstract

This thesis presents a detailed numerical study on dual solutions for newlineDouble thermal diffusive boundary layer flows over horizontal and vertical newlinePlates The Boussinesq approximation is invoked for the fluid properties to newlinerelate the density changes to temperature and concentration and to couple in newlinethis way the temperature and concentration fields to the flow field Using the newlinelocal similarity or similarity transformations the non linear coupled partial newlinedifferential equations governing the flow thermal and concentration fields are newlinetransformed into a set of non linear coupled ordinary differential equations newlineThe reduced non linear ordinary differential equations along with the newlineboundary conditions constitute a two point boundary value problem which is newlinesolved using Shooting method after converting into an initial value problem newlineIn this method the system of equations is first converted into the set of first newlineorder system which is solved by fourth order Runge Kutta method Both newlineassisting and opposing buoyancy forces are considered for boundary layer newlineflows presented in this thesis The numerical results are presented by graphs newlinein each chapter newline newline%%%reference p176-196.
