Abstract

The Internet is persistently expanding in all dimensions and evolving newlineinto a global communications medium consisting of heterogeneously interconnected newlinesystems and carrying an increasing mix of traffic flows with diverse newlinecharacteristics and performance requirements Consequently network newlineoperators and service providers are faced with the major challenge of being newlineable to provide a stable service with consistently predictable performance newlinecharacteristics Therefore Network monitoring is carried out by the service newlineproviders in order to keep track of the statistics on resource utilization by newlinevarious traffic flows in the network Thus Network monitoring and traffic newlinemeasurement have become more and more important in a modern complicated newlinenetwork in order to guarantee the quality of service to all the users This newlinemonitoring procedure should be carried out at the link speed in order to get an newlineaccurate estimate of bandwidth utilization by a specific flow Hence the newlinepresent research provides a solution for high speed network monitoring by newlineproposing exclusive hardware architecture for network flow analysis newlineThe present research concentrates on two fold structures namely the newlinedevelopment of hardware architecture for high speed network flow analysis newlineand real time traffic modeling using probability distributions The proposed newlinehardware architecture is constructed using Field Programmable Gate newlineArray FPGA newline newline%%%reference p151-156.
