Abstract

Optimal resource utilisation is one of the most important Radio newlineResource Management RRM mechanisms used in cellular networks This is newlineused to ensure that admittance of a new flow into a resource constrained newlinenetwork does not violate the Quality of Service QoS agreements guaranteed newlineby the network to already admitted flows To achieve the guaranteed QoS, newlineAdmission Control AC schemes are used Based on the available network newlineresource such as bandwidth it estimates the impact of allowing or dropping a newlinenew session request newlineIn Second Generation 2G networks AC refers to a single network newlineFor the Third Generation 3G or Fourth Generation 4G AC has to deal newlinewith many heterogeneous networks and admit hand off calls and new calls newlinewithout much degradation of quality in terms of call dropping and call newlineblocking For this more efficient resource utilisation mechanism is required newlineVarying mobility and various service class requirements of present cellular newlineapplications pose a serious challenge to service providers newlineTo support the migrating services from the neighboring cells it is newlineessential to obtain the mobility information in order to achieve effective and newlineefficient bandwidth utilization newline newline%%%reference p114-123.
