Abstract

The 21st century has seen an explosion in the use of internet digital newlinecameras scanners and camera phones that has made the capture display newlinestorage and transmission of images a routine experience The visual quality newlineof the images during capture and transmission is affected by corrupting noise newlinewhich is random in nature Continuous data acquisition applications like newlineweather forecasting and medical image data storage demand noise free and newlineeconomical storage media Denoising is therefore the first critical step to be newlineapplied before the image data is analyzed The presence of noise also tends to newlineincrease the entropy of the image data thereby increasing the memory newlinerequired to store the image newline newline%%%Reference p.145-150
