In the wake of the Ukrainian crisis in 2014, EU imposed several sanctions on Russia. It is interesting that the gas industry was not affected by these sanctions despite the sector’s importance for Russian economy. Germany and many EU countries highly rely on the import of Russian gas and in this project the purpose is to get an understanding if Germany, because of its dependency on Russian gas, has tried to affect the decision-making of the EU sanctions.
