Abstract

Arts help us get a better understanding of what is going on around us. At the moment, surveillance of ordinary citizens becomes more and more extensive in the United States. This projet seeks to examine which consequences this kind of surveillance actually has. This is done by analyzing the consequences expressed in the film The Conversation. To do that, theory by Slavoj Zizek and Immanuel Kant is used. The last part of the project consists of a discussion of whether or not it can be argued that the consequences of surveillance are justified by the end results.
