Abstract
Knowledge of PDL oxytalan fibres from the author's previous publications is greatly extended with new histological, TEM and data studies. These papers cover orthodontic tooth movement, fibre system permenance, vertical tooth loading, functional aspects, ankylosis, anatomical associations, microfibrillar ultrastructure and species specificity.
