This research investigates a number of factors that may impact on student engagement and retention in the senior years of schooling from a middle class perspective. Factors considered include metacognitive skills, friendships, support systems, self-esteem, adolescence, student employment, parental participation, student aptitude, wellbeing and teachers and school climate.
